Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation (WWIA) was honored to have two heroes on the sidelines of the game and on the field at the first timeout as a way to honor Georgia Veterans at the recent University of Georgia verses Appalachian State Football game.

University of Georgia Football sponsored a Salute to the Troops by honoring Georgia Veterans during their homecoming game.  WWIA heroes Sean Adams and James Holbrook were the first Heroes to be led out on the field for recognition.  Sailors from the USS Georgia, and Family getting reunited with their deployed son, and Medal of Honor Recipient COL Joseph Jackson followed during the next timeouts in the game.  Sean and James got to watch the warm ups from the sidelines, see the band, cheerleaders and Georgettes up close, watch the kickoff and 1st Quarter from the field.

Next, they were invited up to former Athletic Director and UGA Legend Vince Dooley’s Sky Box to watch more of the game, have lunch and chat with some of UGA fans.  They were back on the field for the triumphant 4th quarter, met the UGA Mascot “Uga” and “Hairy” and were thanked for their service by players and staff.  Most of the team stopped by to say thanks to Jimmy and Sean for their service – many even stayed long enough for a picture; QB Aaron Murray, TB Todd Gurley and FS Connor Norman – just to name a few.

This event was made possible through the hard work and philanthropy of Peter Rajecki, former UGA football kicker and owner of Estrol Synthetic Oils.  He is hosting a Golf Scramble at the University of Georgia Golf Course on 22 Nov in honor of Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation.  Mr Rajecki organized these events in order to honor the Wounded Warriors’ sacrifice and show that the Nation appreciates their service to the country.
