President of Grass Roots North Carolina, Paul Valone, has been busy pushing back on criticism for HB 937, “Amend Various Firearms Laws”, currently active in the North Carolina legislature. Within that bill is a provision allowing concealed handgun permit-holders to keep firearms in locked vehicles on college campuses. Thomas Ross, President of The University of North Carolina opposed said provision, prompting Valone to write Ross an open letter. Read the letter here: http://www.grnc.org/grnc-alerts-archive/471-grnc-alert-5-2-13-will-unc-opposition-kill-campus-carry . Valone stops by on Sunday to discuss HB 937, and other points of action in North Carolina. Visit http://www.grnc.org for more information.
Also on this Sunday, Iowa State University Senior Barry Snell, who published his last column as assistant opinion editor for the university’s paper – the Iowa State Daily – in the beginning of May. He used this opportunity to explain exactly why “Gun People” don’t trust “Anti-Gunners”, complete with links. Tom thought it was one of the best articles he’s read to date – read Snell’s column and see for yourself: http://www.iowastatedaily.com/opinion/article_1c144792-b36d-11e2-8ac6-001a4bcf887a.html?mode=story .
