From the publishers of such magazines as Bowhunting World and Whitetail Journal, The Call seeks to build community within the outdoor community with those who value their faith in God and take that faith with them wherever they go, be it a tree stand, a duck blind, a backcountry wall tent or their favorite trout stream.

Edited by veteran outdoor communicator and POMA Board Member and Media Member Doug Gilmer, also known as The Backcountry Chaplain, The Call will highlight the faith-based testimonies and inspirational stories of people in the outdoor industry as well as those companies who are built on solid, moral, ethical principles as taught in the Bible.

The premier issue of the call features stories of outdoor personalities Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo from Archer’s Choice, legendary bowhunter Ray Howell with the Kicking Bear Foundation, and Realtree’s David Blanton.

Companies featured in this first issue include Hunter Safety System and Mathews Archery. These companies, just like the personalities, have a mission and purpose in life larger than fame or their bottom line. Each has a unique way of making their faith relevant in the course of daily life and business and also in time spent outdoors.

Doug Gilmer, editor The Call, When Faith Goes Afield
Doug Gilmer says of The Call, “For many, hunting, fishing and time spent outside is more than mere recreation or sport; there is a draw to the outdoors, a calling. It is a spiritual connection, an opportunity to enjoy creation and be reminded of what is most important in life. Someone once said that some people go to church and think about hunting while others go hunting and think about God. The Call seeks to be at the junction of these two thoughts.”

“The Call is more than a magazine — it’s a place for those who might not feel comfortable in church to come in order to find hope, inspiration and purpose. It’s also a place where more mature believers can find encouragement through the personal stories of those who are of kindred spirit and featured in each issue,” Gilmer adds.

All this and much, much more is in the premier issue of The Call. Check it out! Visit www.faithafield.com for more details.
