Congratulations to Streamlight, a well known provider of high-performance lighting, for winning the prestigious Outdoor Life 2013 Editor’s Choice Award, which is one of the two most sought after awards in the outdoor industry. The award was given for Streamlight’s versatile Trident LED headlamp, which offers long or short range lighting options.

Streamlight^® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, received Outdoor Life’s prestigious 2013 Editor’s Choice Award for its versatile Trident^® LED headlamp. The headlight features C4^® LED technology and three ultra-bright white LEDs to offer a broad range of up-close and distance lighting applications. 

After undergoing Outdoor Life’s rigorous testing process, the Trident LED Headlamp received the highest scores among hunting, fishing, and outdoor related gear. The resulting Editor’s Choice Award is considered one of the two most sought-after gear awards in the industry.  

The Trident LED was rated “the most durable and most comfortable headlamp in the field,” according to the magazine, and also featured “by far the longest beam of the lamps tested.” The light was recommended for “duck hunters, bowfishermen, gator hunters, and anyone else who spends time in dark marshes and swamps.”

The multi-purpose Trident LED headlamp features three lighting modes: 1 white C4 LED for bright light and strong beam distance (4,000 candela, 80 lumens, 126 meters); (3) 5mm LEDs for intense brightness and longer run time (385 candela, 35 lumens, 10 hours); and (1) 5mm LED for an extended, 53-hour run time with a less intense beam (120 candela, 11 lumens, 22 meters).

The Trident LED Headlamp offers a robust ratchet system for the 90^◦ tilting head, which prevents neck fatigue. Featuring a co-molded rubber body that offers superior durability, the light also has a recessed, easy-to-use push-button switch to protect it from inadvertent activation.

Powered by 3 AAA alkaline batteries, the headlamp features Streamlight’s new low-level battery indicator, a red LED that flashes when voltage is low and batteries are nearly depleted.

The Trident LED Headlamp weighs 5.5 ounces and is IPX4 rated for water resistance up to two meters.  The headlight includes an elastic and rubber head strap.
