, a junior at University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF), joined the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) as an intern through the UWRF internship program. Morrissey’s internship runs through the 2013 spring semester.

As a POMA student member for the past three years, Morrissey is thrilled to be a working intern. His duties with POMA offer Morrissey real-life experience in his field of study, marketing and communications.

Morrissey’s internship is focused on promoting and implementing the 2013 business conference, which is known territory. Morrissey previously worked with POMA at the 2011 and 2012 POMA Business Conferences.

“Justin will work on press releases, social media, auction donation procurement, photography and videography, member relations, and on-site event logistics,” explained Laurie Lee Dovey, POMA’s executive director.

“Although I worked on-site at past conferences, I’m eager to get involved in pre-event planning, behind the scenes, and learn how POMA promotes and facilitates the conference,” Morrissey said.

UWRF has been honored as a top-rated Midwest university by several national publications, including The Princeton Review and U.S. News and World Report. UWRF offers internship programs for all degrees. Students are required to earn two to four credits through outside-the-classroom employment.
