Pennsylvania (February 13, 2020) – After nearly five years at the helm of the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), Kevin Orthman, POMA’s Executive Director, is moving on to new adventures with his family. Orthman’s last “hurrah” with the outdoor media organization will be at POMA’s Annual Business Conference in Franklin, Tenn. June 16-18. Orthman’s family is moving out of country for a new business opportunity, but they still plan on being involved in the outdoor industry.
Orthman is POMA’s second Executive Director since the organization was founded in 2005. During his tenure, Orthman has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization. Some of his most notable accomplishments include: rebranding of the POMA organization – from the new logo and website to the organization’s acclaimed social media presence; diversifying and strengthening POMA membership across the U.S. and Canada; creating and executing the POMA Visions Afield program; creation of professional recognition opportunities through the NASGW Caliber Awards; diversifying and modernizing POMA membership categories to reflect the changing landscape of media; improving the organization’s work with youth and diversity membership; elevating POMA’s Annual Business Conference in both the quality of speakers, educational opportunities, and financial impact for the organization.
“We cannot thank Kevin enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation he gave to POMA over the last five years. He will be greatly missed. We look forward to following his adventures overseas and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career. Please join us in Franklin, Tenn. this June as we all wish Kevin farewell during POMA’s annual Business Conference,” stated Tony Bynum, president of POMA Board of Directors.
“It has been an honor to serve POMA over the past five years. I am so proud of the work we have done to make POMA a strong, modern organization that is the benchmark in our industry,” shared Kevin Orthman, POMA’s Executive Director. “POMA is comprised of the hardest working men and women in outdoor communications and I am lucky to have served as the leader of this tight-knit family of professionals. I owe a huge thanks to the current and past board of directors for their faith and support and am looking forward to watching this organization continue to grow in its next chapter as my next personal chapter begins overseas.”
