POMA was thrilled to welcome News on 6 Anchor as Thursday’s keynote speaker at POMA’s annual conference in Broken Arrow, OK.

Tess is an award-winning journalist who joined News On 6 in March 2012. She’s an anchor and reporter for 6 in the Morning. Tess is a proud Oklahoman, born and raised in El Reno, who always dreamed of working in the TV news business and is honored to have the opportunity work in her home state.
Tess graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. She started her career on-air as a college student, anchoring the morning and evening newscasts at a small TV station in Stillwater.
After college, Tess moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she worked for three years as a reporter and producer for 40/29 News, earning two consecutive Associated Press awards for best 10 p.m. newscast. She also worked for a station in Oklahoma City before making the move to Tulsa.
Tess has covered a number of major stories throughout the state. She witnessed two of Oklahoma’s most notorious executions, was on the scene during the devastating 2012 Creek County wildfires and covered the aftermath of the deadly Moore tornado in 2013. Tess is assigned many light-hearted stories, as well and has a passion for sharing the stories of everyday Oklahomans.
