RAPID CITY, SD (September 19, 2022) – The National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) supports the National Archery In The Schools Program (NASP®) in many ways including attending and sponsoring lunch at the NASP® State Coordinator Conference July 18-21, New Orleans, LA.
“NBEF thanks the NASP® administration and State Coordinators for everything they are doing for youth archery. It’s exciting that over a million young archers are participating each year,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “NASP® is a steppingstone for many adventures including the Olympics and bowhunting. NBEF firmly supports the NASP® organization and will continue to help move the program forward.”
NBEF also sponsored the 2022 1st Place High School Team Scholarship at the NASP® National Tournaments. Each of the 24 members of the winning team received a $1,000 scholarship. NBEF also donated two custom Genesis bows to the winning school in NBEF colors for future archery instruction.
NBEF supports NASP® as a way to introduce young archers to bowhunting. NBEF shares information about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes and informational materials with the thousands of NASP® participants, their coaches and families.
NASP®’s mission is to promote instruction in international-style target archery as part of in-school curriculum, to improve educational performance and participation in the shooting sports among students in grades 4-12.
“We’re very grateful to have NBEF’s past and current support,” explained NASP® President Tommy Floyd. “Our organizations are working together and share a passion to get more young people into the shooting sports and into the outdoor lifestyle.”
