RAPID CITY, SD (August 7, 2023) – The National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) participated in the recent New York State Outdoor Writers Association (NYSOWA) conference in Corning, NY. NBEF Board Member Stephen George was a speaker at the conference and discussed the history of bowhunter education, NBEF and the ongoing importance of New York media sharing bowhunting facts to support bowhunting.
Outstanding member contributions were recognized during the annual banquet and awards presentation. Industry media, corporate partners and non-profit partners met to share information which supports content creation and enhances communicator skills.
NBEF’s message about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes, informational materials, and enthusiasm to support the industry was well received by attendees.
“Bowhunting education founder Bill Wadsworth hailed from New York. He and his early supporters developed and gained widespread adoption of today’s bowhunting education, standards and ethics,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “NBEF recognizes the role New Yorkers continue to play in bowhunting. NBEF is committed to support outdoor media in portraying bowhunter safety and encouraging bowhunting success.”
“We are extremely grateful for the support of the NBEF,” explained NYSOWA President Chris Paparo. “Collaborations such as this allow both organizations to better educate the public about hunter safety.”
NBEF helps bowhunters learn to be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.
