Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks is pleased to announce the company is sponsoring a national outdoor communicator contest that brings more awareness to options for upgrading or enhancing a shooters’ or hunters’ firearms.  The 2015 Boyds Outdoor Communicator Contest is open to all outdoor communicators that communicate through print, electronic media or the Internet via blogs.

“We are keenly aware of the significant contribution and value the outdoor communicator brings to today’s shooter and outdoorsman. These professionals are the critical link between new technology and products available in the marketplace and the customers that purchase our products,” said Dustin Knutson, General Manager at Boyds. “We have always strongly supported the outdoor writer community and our new contest is a way to help outdoor communicators earn more money while bringing better awareness to their readers on how they can enhance the value of their current firearms.”

The contest is open to any verifiable outdoor communicator that writes for print, electronic media or Internet-based media vehicles.  Winners must provide proof of published article on specified topics in the contest timeframe.  All media vehicles will be verified for winning entries. The story must be focused on any one of the following topics:

  • “Best ideas for cost savings on guns by using quality replacement parts”
  • “Tips and tricks for gun upgrades and maintenance”
  •  “New and innovative ways to update your existing firearms”

Entries will be judged by a three judge panel with the winner winning $1750; 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $250.  Winners will be announced at the 2016 SHOT Show. Entries must be published or aired between February 1st and December 10th, 2015.

Any outdoor communicator who has a communication that qualifies can enter the contest by logging on to www.boydsgunstocks.com/poma and navigating to their online press section or submitting their entry form with their entry via U.S. Mail.  Entries are limited to two (2) per communicator.
