“With Gearbox, shoppers can have authentic, meaningful dialogue with each other. Buy with confidence after talking to other elk hunters, fly fishermen or hikers who are using the exact same piece of gear. And, my favorite part of it all, is if you buy it through our network, you’re helping raise money for conservation. Shopping any other way immediately seems antiquated.”

GoWild has released a sophisticated ecommerce platform designed to empower outdoor consumers to take control of their product research. GoWild Gearbox allows members to search and monitor prices across more than 300,000 products from thousands of manufacturers and retailers.
GoWild members can organize their personal gear by sharable Setups, prompting dialogue and feedback from the community. This process also opens a new sales channel for direct-to-consumer brands that want to upload their own gear into Gearbox.
In addition to creating a single-source shopping experience, Gearbox gives back to conservation. GoWild generates revenue from purchases made from its affiliate partners, and donates 1% of the proceeds from Gearbox to nonprofits and conservation organizations. The first nonprofit chosen by GoWild is Raise ‘Em Outdoors, an organization that teaches kids to hunt, fish and camp.
“Online shopping and social media has historically given businesses and brands the power to control the narrative, but Gearbox puts consumers in control,” said GoWild Cofounder, CEO, Brad Luttrell.
Luttrell said Gearbox uses a combination of algorithms, proprietary development and a robust affiliate network to find the best prices and gear daily. As the product matures, GoWild plans to leverage its own algorithms and machine-learning models to improve search results.
Hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts already utilize GoWild for other functionality, such as activity tracking, trophy logs, and high levels of social engagement. Gearbox utilizes the platform’s understanding of the outdoor consumer, and applies it to help the community shop smarter. Over time, GoWild plans to release the ability to filter products by the skill of members using the item, instead of the traditional and often manipulated five star method.
“What you’re seeing today is just the beginning,” said Zack Grimes, GoWild’s Chief Analytics Officer. “As we add more products, members and Gearbox partners, this platform will become the only way to shop for your outdoor gear.”
