With the help of its fans and the celebrity judges, the Extreme Huntress Challenge has announced the six women who will move on to compete as semi-finalists in the 2016 competition. The finalists include Erica Forsyth, Jeanne McFall, Jessica Amos, Jen Cordaro, Taylor Reisbeck and Shannon Lansdowne.
These six women will be challenged in a head-to-head hunting and outdoor skills competition at the esteemed 777 Ranch in Hondo, Texas in July 2015. The Extreme Huntress™ Challenge will test the semi-finalists’ physical fitness, shooting, tracking, and hunting skills. A panel of celebrity judges, including Olivia Nalos Opre, Brittany Boddington, Larry Weishuhn and Melissa Bachman, will be on hand at the 777 Ranch to score the semi-finalists as they compete head-to-head.
As usual, Tahoe Films, Ltd. will document the event and then produce a series of online episodes of Extreme Huntress™. New this year, there will be 26 short 6-8 minute episodes, rather than the usual 13 episodes. The episodes will air on the new GunBroker.com video platform, set to launch later this month. As in past years, the public will be invited to vote for their favorite contestant at http://ExtremeHuntress.com.
The contestant selected as the 2016 Extreme Huntress™ will have the greatest overall score, which will be a combination of the scores from the outdoor skills competition, the judges’ scores and the online votes. The winner of the 2016 Extreme Huntress™ Challenge will be announced at the Dallas Safari Club annual convention in January 2016.
Major sponsors of the Extreme Huntress™ Challenge, include the 777 Ranch, Brownells, Dallas Safari Club, Camp Chef and Coppersmith Global Logistics.
About the Extreme Huntress™ Challenge
Now in it’s seventh year, the Extreme Huntress™ Challenge is about preserving our outdoor heritage. Our goal is to create positive role models for all women who want to participate in hunting. With a fifty-percent divorce rate, there are a lot of kids who won’t get into traditional outdoor sports unless mom does. We feel if mom goes hunting, so will her children– and the whole family.
