“It is an honor being recognized by DU’s staff as Region 3 regional director of the year,” Kostinec said. “Much of the satisfaction from this job comes from working with dedicated and passionate volunteers to make a difference on the landscape.”
Kostinec, a resident of Carlos, covers central Minnesota and works with volunteer committees in this area hosting fundraising events for the 76-year-old wetlands conservation organization. The events in Kostinec’s region raised more than $780,000 for DU’s conservation mission during the fiscal year ending June 30.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Ducks Unlimited, coordinating more than 4,000 local fundraising events that generate more than 400,000 memberships and more than $50 million annually.
Ducks Unlimited Inc. is the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to conserving North America’s continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 13 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent.
