American Gun Culture – This Week on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk

Mandeville, LA – It’s the true history of American gun ownership and culture, a renewed war on that culture, a potential ballot measure in Florida regarding “military style weapons”, and more, this Sunday on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk®, the original nationally-syndicated talk show about guns and the shooting sports.

Florida and California. If one isn’t in the headlines, the other usually is, and for all the wrong reasons. This Sunday, Tom goes bi-coastal talking about the latest issues in both states. First, David Codrea, regular featured contributor to AmmoLand.com and Firearms News, brings information on a ballot measure in Florida proposed by the group BAWN! (Ban Assault Weapons Now!) aimed at a ban of “military-style weapons”. The group has two years to collect a LOT of signatures to get it on the ballot for a vote. Read more from Codrea at https://bit.ly/2H69atK.

Then, author Clayton Cramer talks with Tom about his newest book “Lock, Stock, and Barrel: The Origins of American Gun Culture”, and how he debunked the myth that a passion for firearms is a new idea in America led by gun makers. In his book, Cramer examines the real history of American gun culture and ownership dating back to colonial times. Find it, and other works by Cramer, on Amazon at https://amzn.to/2RLOuLO. Tom also wrote about the importance of Cramer’s work, and on challenging lies, in the latest Gun Talk newsletter here: https://bit.ly/2QzMscJ.

Finally, a visit to California with attorney Chuck Michel, one of the leaders in the state’s gun-rights lawsuits and actions, to discuss attacks from the newly-elected California Governor Gavin Newsom, no longer in the form of gun laws, but as attacks on gun ownership supporters and gun culture as a whole. Newsom was the author of the latest gun law in California, Prop 63.
