Photographers offer inages in two ways
-
As rights managed, which means prices are calculated directly online, based upon usage rights, size and other factors. These images can be added to the shopping cart and paid for immediately via the secure PayPal online system, which accepts credit card payments. (When submitting images, photographer must select "Rights Managed under License Type for automatic price calculation to work)
-
As photographer controlled images, which means the buyer and photographer negotiate price. These images are added to the buyers Lightbox. The buyer requests a quote. When a price is agreed upon, the buyer is sent an invoice, which also can be paid for through PayPal. (When submitting images, photographer must select "Royalty Free" or "Rights Managed, No Calculator" under License Type to disable the automatic price calculator)
To determine if an image is rights managed or photographer controlled
-
Click on the small thumbnail of the image to open it on a page by itself and scroll to the bottom of the page
-
If you see a price calculator, the image is rights managed. To purchase the image, simply make all selections required, click calculate price, and then add the image to shopping cart to check out and pay for the image
-
If you do not see a price calculator, the image is photographer controlled. Simply check the box add to lightbox and then following instructions to get a quote and negotiate the price
Negotiating prices
- Photographers negotiate prices for images directly with the buyer — based on buyers requesting a quote (received by POMA and sent to photographer)
- When a price is agreed upon, the photographer provides POMA with a list of images being purchased (filename) and the fee per image, along with the buyer’s name and e-mail address
- POMA invoices the buyer
- POMA notifies photographer when payment is received
- Photographer delivers the image(s) to the buyer and alerts POMA of delivery completion
Photographer Payment
- Monthly, POMA pays photographers fees due, less POMA fees (10%)
