A POMA Biz Tip allowed me to recoup content that would have taken a monumental amount of time to recreate. A few weeks ago POMA posted a Biz Tip on how to recover lost files. I printed that up and filed it here at my desk, knowing that chances were that I’d never need it. But I filed it anyway.

Today, I was answering questions for my “Ask Dr Dave About Whitetails” column for www.sportsmansguide.com, and somehow deleted that file from my disk. I had no backup (duh), and even worse, that file contained around 100 past questions that I’ve been saving to use for a new book I’ve just started. Biz Tips to the rescue. In 20 minutes, I was good to go. Thanks POMA and Biz Tip author PC World Contributing Editor Lincoln Spector!

Photographer & Writer

Why do I belong to POMA? The big reason is it doesn’t cost me anything. In fact, membership makes me money. By January 7 of this year, sales through Money Line covered my dues, so any additional income from contacts made through POMA will be pure profit.

Being a POMA Corporate Partner has been extremely beneficial for Prois. Not only are we able to get our gear in front of those who can help promote us, it is a great networking organization!

Freelance Writer/Photographer

I was stuck in a rookie outdoor writer rut. I needed encouragement from my peers, guidance from leading experts, and a mentor who genuinely cared if I succeed or failed. So, I joined POMA. Being welcomed with a smile and handshake followed by the question “What can we do for you?” has changed my career. Within four weeks, I landed a regular column assignment and five feature assignments that resulted in a great paycheck. Thanks POMA for giving me the tools I needed to take my career to the next level.

Ingrid Niehaus
Hobie PR Director

Hobie has been a POMA Corporate Partner since last summer (2009). Quite honestly, when we first joined, I was not sure how it would work out for a fishing-oriented company like Hobie, but thought that it would be worthwhile to try. Have I ever been pleasantly surprised!

For starters, staff is easy to communicate with and is diligent with follow-up. We all know how important that is. POMA listens to its Corporate Partners. The frequent correspondence with members is useful without being frivolous.

When there was an issue with the expense of the conference for things that Hobie and other supporting members would not be taking advantage of, POMA found a way to work with Corporate Partners and restructure the fees so that they worked well for everyone involved.

As important, we really appreciate the fact that your 2010 summer conference will have water access so that we, along with other “water” products, will have the opportunity to showcase our boats in their own environment. No matter how much we say about our product, there is absolutely nothing like actually letting writers try for themselves.

The most important benefit, though, for Hobie has been the quality of writers that belong to the group. We met some of them at last summer’s conference, others via email correspondence, and now look forward to meeting even more at the 2010 conference. The bottom line for all Corporate Partners is “ink” and I think that POMA will prove to be a very valuable conduit to help us do this. The responsibility for exciting members about our product, following up etc. is totally on our shoulders, but POMA gives up the platform.

Thanks for your efforts and I look forward to continuing Hobie’s involvement.

The benefits of attending the POMA conference come in many varieties. We met POMA media member Bill Konway at the event and made plans for a photo shoot. We think our partnership is going to rock the fashion runway. Check it out. Thanks POMA.
