FoxFi – Free WiFi Through Android Phones

How many times have you been on the road and need to use your Android tablet, but don’t have 3G service. It’s so frustrating, and paying your cell phone carrier $20 a month usually isn’t worth it. Enter FoxFi. FoxFi is an Android app that you install on your 3G phone, allowing it to be used as a WiFi tethering device. Not all phones are supported, and usage time is limited on the free service, but you can upgrade to the paid version for $7.00 and time limits are lifted. I was skeptical, so I tried it myself, ending up pleasantly surprised when it worked like a charm. I’ll be testing it on the road over the next couple of days – hopefully it continues to live up to my two thumbs up.
