The 2024 POMA Annual Meeting will be three full days – May 6-8 – in Pinewood, South Carolina, at the South Carolina Waterfowl Association. The cost for registration is $250 per person. Field Trips are included in the cost of registration for media members.

If you’re bringing your spouse or significant other, a fee of $185 will be assigned to cover the cost of meals and the Field Trip.

Field Trip Registration

All field trips have been generously donation and set up by Santee Cooper Country, Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce and the city of Sumter. Field Trips will take place the morning of May 6. Transportation and a bagged lunch will be provided. (Trip details are below.)

The Santee Cooper Lakes have ranked among the nation's top fishing lakes for over a decade. Enjoy a day on the water with a local fishing guide for a chance to reel in some of the famed fish that call these waters home.

Lake Marion Kayak Trip
One of the best ways to experience #LakeLifeSC is by getting up close and personal with our amazing natural resource, and Blueway Adventures' Sparkleberry Swamp Kayak Tour is exactly that. All equipment is provided on this three-hour tour, so just show up and enjoy paddling through nature and learning from over 30 years of kayak guiding experience.

Santee Cooper Showcase
At over 170,000 acres of water, the Santee Cooper Lakes combine to form the state's largest freewater fishery, and the Santee Cooper Lake Management Team is tasked with ensuring that resource is enjoyed for generations to come. Hop on an airboat with the team and get a glimpse of the behind the scenes work that goes into studying and maintaining one of the nation's best bodies of water!

Agritourism Adventure
Grateville Acres, a family-owned, sustainable farm located on the outskirts of Clarendon County, invites visitors to experience a day on the farm with an agenda full of anything from harvesting parties to fresh food cooking classes. Sign up and enjoy some seasonal adventures.

Historic Downtown Tour
We are nearing the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, and what better way to celebrate than taking a step back in time. Join local historians on a guided tour to visit amazing revolutionary murals and markers that capture Clarendon County's historical moments.

Swan Lake Iris Gardens Tour
Swan Lake Iris Gardens is the only public park in the United States to feature all eight swan species and some of the most intensive plantings of Japanese Iris in the country. A guide will lead you on a private tour, with ample opportunities for photography.

Experience the beauty and excitement of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association's 650 acres of conservation and hunting grounds during POMA's Annual Meeting. Immerse yourself in a diverse habitat like no other. Explore our Aviary, witness restoration projects, discover our youth campus, and much more, all with a personal tour by SCWA’s CEO, David Wielicki and SCWA’s Operations Manager, Jonathan Patrick. Hop on our side-by-side vehicles and embark on an unforgettable journey through these pristine grounds that we’ve been grooming for prime duck habitat for over 30 years.
